9. Suspicious Minds
Super Bowl XXII, 1989 Performers: Elvis Presto So besides the cheesy space-tacular green screen, the half-hearted Elvis impersonation and the faux-Motown soul singing entourage, the one true thing that makes this performance spectacularly ridiculous is the inclusion of "magic." We don't mean magic, as in 2001's emotional U2 performance following the terrorist attacks, but rather the kind you might've been impressed by before learning how credit cards work. When Elvis Presto croons, "Prepare for my most mystifying feat, the card you chose is under your feet," the audience shoves their seat cushions into the air, completely renewed at the prospect of powers working beyond human understanding, or dignity. Sad. We're embarrassed this even happened.
