8. Eddie Vedder Is Annoyed He WonEddie Vedder took the stage in 1996 pretty much because he had to, and he made that clear. He then went on to say he thinks the awards are meaningless but that his dad would've appreciated his win, followed immediately with "....My dad died before I got to know him." So essentially his acceptance speech was just him taking a public shit on the institution of the Grammys and possibly his dead father.
