As the international wave of cool kids and culturally well to do escaped to Miami in the name of Art Basel, The Botanist Pop-Up was ready to greet them. Art can wait, after all. But, delicious gin cocktails? Not so much.
The exclusive pop-up space invited guests to #BeTheBotanist mixing local flavors with The Botanist gin during an interactive evening of cocktail exploration. Hailing from the idyllic Scottish island of Islay this versatile dry gin is crafted using a combination of 22 hand-foraged botanicals, perfect for mixing up locally-inspired cocktails.
On the menu? A range of classics with a flare and original cocktails that blend local Miami flavors. To name a few, there was the P & B & T, a refreshing twist on the classic Gin & Tonic mix of The Botanist gin, fresh peppermint leaves and tonic water - the Date With Destiny, an upgrade to a classic Negroni, which consists of The Botanist gin, Luxardo bitter, sweet vermouth, date syrup, and homemade date bitters - and lastly, the 20th Century Man, an impressive take on a classic that every man and woman about town should have in their cocktail arsenal. Just start off with The Botanist gin, white wine aperitif, fresh lemon juice, white créme de cacao, simple syrup and finish with a few dashes of homemade cacao bitters.
