The Duke and Duchess of Windsor (that would be Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson) were said to have month-long stays in one of the penthouses, while other dignitaries and political figures, including the Maharanee of Jodhpur, the Shah of Persia, and President John F. Kennedy have all been entertained within its storied walls.
With a new generation flocking to the property, you could expect to find Old Money It Girls, like Aerin Lauder, and, of course, plenty of influencers drawn to the updated decor #forthegram. Hey, they're not the only ones.
Even the prolific photographer Slim Aarons was drawn to the Colony's chic ambiance. Aarons was captivated by the golden age of wealth, often capturing the beauty, leisure and fashion that came alongside.
