Hannah Emerson: "Style" & "XO" Cover

One night we were searching for a terrific cover of Taylor Swift's "Style"—that exciting convertible in the night of a song with emotionally racy twists and turns. All the covers we found were too this or too that. Disappointed, we were about to call it a night. (And as in the search for true love, we thought, "Maybe it's not out there!") But then popped up a Hannah Emerson's new video post. We clicked. We listened. We loved it. We found what we had been looking for. As they say, We. Just. Knew. With her enchanting sincere voice, she sings an acoustic version of "Style" here like heaven invited pure-hearted her to perform an earthly song up there. No melodramatic vanity performance. She melodically sings with emotional clarity and an openness of heart like it's only natural; and as if bitterness and an accusatory tone are unnecessary when telling one's heart to an unpredictable sometimes lover. (She's lovely singing, "It's been a while since I have even heard from you. Heard from you..." Non-judgmental. No guilt trips. Just a wisp of genuine sadness. And a bit of hurt.) At just 20, Hannah looks like a young American Kate Middleton—clean ivory skin, healthy brown hair, a good girl's eyes that easily express simple things like happiness and child-like humor. But she's more "adventurous, passionate, and goofy" than proper, controlled, and lady-like. She moved from Dallas, TX to L.A. two years ago to pursue her singer-songwriter and actress dreams. With over 33,000 YouTube subscribers, and over 2.6 million video views, this empathetic girl is one to watch for. And one to turn to in the darkest night hour when Prince Charming breaks up with you, or returns back to you. You whose love is bright as ever, even in the shadows.
