Ragnar Kjartansson and The National, A Lot of Sorrow
In order to mourn the finale of this season's Sunday Sessions at the MoMA, Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson sought out rock band The National, to perform for six hours straight.
On May 5, The National will be performing a six hour live loop of their song, "Sorrow." According to the artist, the stretching of a single song through repetition gives the sound a "structural presence."
