Serum

After your mask and toner, serum comes next to treat specific skin issues. For those of us with skin pigmentation, Angelite Crystal Elixir from Elina Organics is the secret to even skin tone. The Elixir is made with Snow Mushroom, which lightens pigmentation and holds 5 times more water than Hyaluronic Acid, making it one of the most hydrating ingredients in skincare. This specific mushroom is a powerful youth-preserver as it works better than Vitamin C in brightening skin.

Elina is the mushroom whisperer - the queen of fungi, if you will. She has done extensive research about the topical benefits of various kinds of mushrooms and incorporates them into her massages and formulas. We love this Elixir because it's lightweight and moisturizes better than Hyaluronic Acid. Massage it into the skin for two minutes before applying moisturizer.

On the list is one of our favorite brands, Retrouve. Long story short, your skin will never feel as good as it does when you use Retrouve's Nutrient Face Serum. The water based formula soaks deep to moisturize and activate stem cell recruitment. Normal to oily skin types benefit the most from this formula. It's extremely potent and a little bit goes a long way, so don't roll your eyes at the price tag.

Lancer's Younger Pure Youth Serum is another great high performance serum blended with retinoids and acids to combat aging and fine lines. Dr. Lancer is most proud of this formulation as it has incredibly advanced, pharmaceutical-grade chemistry that doesn't irritate or inflame the skin.

For fine lines, use Songerie's Lactic Acid Serum with AHA, BHA, + PHA, or Colbert MD's Stimulate The Serum which boosts collagen production to diminish signs of aging. Revision Skincare makes a peptide-rich serum called Revox 7 for expression lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth.

To brighten skin, use Drunk Elephant's C-Firma Day Serum that's packed with antioxidants and fruit enzymes to even out skin tone. Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir is formulated with Golden Vitamin C & Polyglutamic Acid to brighten skin and reduce fine lines.

For dry skin, use Chantecaille's Blue Light Protection Hyaluronic Serum to hydrate, plump and protect your skin from the visible effects of blue light pollution (the light emitted from your screen and phone effects skin and mood negatively). We love this serum because it's gentle on all skin types. Dr. Barbara Sturm makes a great Night Serum that works to reverse dryness and stressed skin while you sleep. It protects against UV-induced damage and provides astringent, toning and calming properties. Phyto-C's Icy Blue is a top contender for moisturizing serums, as it cools and hydrates your skin. It's perfect for after-sun care and if you want to be extra gentle with your skin.
