Bridal buffs, rejoice - the ultimate Vogue wedding is in the works. Anna Wintour's 29-year-old daughter, Bee Shaffer, is officially engaged to another well-heeled member of the fashion flock and the pairing couldn't get more perfect - or heart-wrenching. Just months after the passing of his mother, Vogue Italia's inimitable Editor in Chief, Franca Sozzani, Francesco Carrozzini popped the question according to People, making this impending union surely one of the most stylish in history.
Wintour was a close friend of her Italian counterpart, penning a moving letter for Sozzani back in December when she passed away. On one of her last visits, Wintour recalled, "I was wearing a little watch Franca had given me, and I promised to pass it along one day, in celebration of our friendship, should Francesco be blessed with a daughter." Try not to cry. Ok, too late.
While Bee and Francesco appear to have both inherited an eye for style, neither one of them seem to be inheriting a role at the magazine anytime soon. Bee works as a producer for Late Night with Seth Meyers, while Francesco is a lauded film director and photographer, having recently released a documentary on his mother titled, Franca: Chaos & Creation.
Here's hoping these two keep the Vogue legacy alive. Mazel tov!
