Red At The Bone by Jaqueline Woodson
Red At The Bone is my Bad Bitch Book Club's book of the month selection for February, and it’s nothing short of outstanding. Both Oprah and The New York Times listed it as one of the absolute best books of 2019, and I am very inclined to agree. It’s the story of an unplanned pregnancy between two teenagers in Brooklyn and all of the people their child's life comes to impact. This book is under 200 pages and reads like poetry, often changing point of view and time period. Of the 10 books I’ve read so far in 2020 (subtle brag), this book undoubtedly impacted me the most emotionally.
