Let's be real, even the most social of social butterflies among us secretly love cancelled plans. We all do! But if there's one person in the world we would imagine loves cancelled plans more than anyone else, it's obviously Larry David.
So when he had learned that he was among the hundreds of A-list guests who had to be uninvited from Barack Obama's blowout 60th birthday bash in Martha's Vineyard earlier this month, he hardly tried to curb his enthusiasm.
As he told the New York Times, getting invited among the likes of George Clooney and Beyonce in the first place sent him into "a tailspin," as he thought he would be asked to perform for the former Prez and tried to think of material with just a few days' notice.
But when he received the bad (good?) news from Obama's assistant that his invitation had to be rescinded?
"I was so relieved, I screamed, ‘Thank you! Thank you!’ He must have thought I was insane. Then I hung up the phone, poured myself a drink and finished my crossword puzzle."
Truly a man after our own hearts.
