Taylor Swift and John Mayer are in Love

I just want to start off by saying I really do think this one is a REACH. Like, more of a reach than Kaylor. But there is a portion of her fanbase that is wholeheartedly convinced that John Mayer is Taylor’s One True Love. 

So where does this ridiculous rumor come from? In 2010, Taylor and John collaborated on the song "Half of my Heart" (a bop, btw). One of the lyrics is “half of my heart is a shotgun wedding to a bride with a paper ring.” During this period they were casually dating, resulting in the scathing breakup anthem Dear John. A few years later, John responded to Dear John with a song called "Paper Doll" - referring to Taylor as “22 girls in one” which was a play off her song "22." Though John Mayer was allegedly humiliated by Dear John, he has since changed the way he speaks about Taylor publicly, now being quite outspoken about her songwriting skills.  

Why the change in tone? There is a passionate group of people that believe John and Taylor got back together right before she met Joe Alywn. More specifically, at Drake’s birthday party in October of 2016. These people believe that "Love on the Weekend" (JM) and "Getaway Car" (TS) are telling two different sides to the same story. What’s validating them? The fact that Taylor’s newest album has a song called "Paper Rings."
