Believe it or not, dinner parties, those pleasant gatherings marked by multicourse meals and wine-fueled conversations amongst intimate groups of acquaintances, have quite the history of ending in catastrophe. Recently, at Yale, one such event has indeed resulted in a real-life murder mystery of sorts - not of a person, but of a prominent professor's reputation.

Amy Chua, the famed academic and controversial Yale Law School professor, is in hot water after students claimed she was hosting "drunken dinner parties" with students and federal judges (?) during the pandemic. The accusations have resulted in a firestorm of chaos at the Ivy League school.
