Don't, however, think that just because you've been to these touristy places with your parents once or twice makes you a NYC expert. I would always despise that guy who would insist on going to "that bar in Murray Hill" because he went there once for burgers with his parents. You are not a city pro - hell, does this guy even know what the cross streets are? Or how to get there? No, he doesn't. So don't be that jerk. You will end up spending 2 hours hearing about how amazing the place is and never end up going.
