While the battle between New York colleges rages on, we think Pharrell Williams' 2017 commencement speech secures NYU's spot as the coolest. (Shout out to my alma mater!) Today, at Yankee Stadium, the iconic musician and producer who never seems to age received an honorary doctorate degree and spoke to the graduating class donned in purple.
"The days of being anonymous activists or participants are over. How can we inspire if we are behind the scenes?" he asked during his nearly 10 minutes at the podium. He continued, "There is no humanity without education and there is no education without humanity."
