Daily Style Phile: Kristin Prim

by CATHY LEVETT · July 15, 2010

Kristin Prim has amazed us all. She started blogging at age 12, then founded her own fashion magazine, Prim Magazine, at only 14! She has even been featured in all the notable fashion magazines: French Glamour, Teen Vogue and Italian Elle. This sixteen-year-old has already made a fierce presence for herself in the fashion industry...-

It is a mystery as to how Kristin developed an eye for fashion, as her parents are not in the industry and she attends a Catholic high school and resides on the outskirts of Manhattan. We give her credit though, for having the confidence and drive to make something of herself in the at times, brutal fashion industry.

After taking only six months to get her magazine up and running, Kristin returned to the blogging world. How is she able to balance school on top of her magazine AND blog? Can she give us lessons on time management... please?!

Choosing to not be knowledgeable on the latest fads and trends in the fashion world, Kristin makes up her own style. She has described her personal style as a mix between Alice Dellal and Mary-Kate Olsen; grungy meets bohemian.

Kristin is obviously not very fond of bright colors...as you can see. Not everyone can pull off dark, somber colors all the time, but she clearly can. She takes the color black to a whole new level. Rarely smiling for photographs, Kristin holds herself in a mystical but chic way; it all seems so natural for her. She frequently wears her hair parted on the right side of her head. Some of Kristin's favorite designers are Alexander McQueen, Brian Lichtenberg, Rick Owens, Alexander Wang and Haider Ackermann.

This is only the beginning of Kristin's future in fashion. At such a young age, we are sure that this fashion blogger-turned-magazine editor will be gracing us (in black) with her presence for many years to come...
