Like some scene out of a Whit Stillman movie, Manhattan's chicest socialites, influencers, and fashionistas put on their best staying-in gowns and gathered inside the Empire Suite at the iconic Carlyle Hotel for a Saturday night rager classier than any house party you might have gone to in college.
Hosted by notorious boy-about-town, Michael Tommasiello (a.k.a. @nydoorman), whose wild New Year's Eve parties leave us hungover well into January, the bash doubled as a going away party for NYC cool girl Sam Lim, who's setting her sights on L.A.
Despite a kitchen full of Tequila Avión, there wasn't a single red Solo cup in sight throughout the two story, celebrity-frequented VIP suite. Instead, DIY cocktails were paired with puffs of Beboe, the Scott Campbell founded luxury weed pens the New York Times named "the Hermès of Marijuana." Like we said, this wasn't your typical Project X situation. We mean, it was on the Upper East Side.
The evening's attendees, including stylists Jamie Frankel and Mohar Chaudhuri, model Pritika Swarup, Fashionista Editor-In-Chief Alyssa Vingan Klein, and RHONY's Dorinda Medley were treated to an impromptu performance by A-list mentalist Josh Beckerman, The Foodie Magician. Of course, the magic didn't stop after the show was over - stunning 28th-floor views kept guests gasping, while hits of Beboe kept them hungry. Is there anything more glamorous than satisfying your high-end munchies with Krispy Kreme and Domino's?
We think not.
