Phoebe Gloeckner: Author of Diary of a Teenage Girl: An Account in Words and Pictures Marielle Heller: Writer/ Director of the film adaptation, The Diary of a Teenage Girl The Story: Based on Gloeckner's personal accounts and diaries through her journey of adolescence, Heller took what she wanted and left what she didn't to bring the testy story to the big screen. As an audience, we get a protagonist who is one of her own, but one we can relate to and sympathize with. We get a story we can't help but want to follow through the twists, turns, road bumps and sweet but sapless ending. Go see it.
