Last night, the 2nd Annual Save the Children Illumination Gala took place at The Plaza Hotel's grand ballroom in New York City. The evening honored Ben Affleck, The Right Honorable Tony Blair, Austin Hearst, T.J. Maxx, and more. Jennifer Garner served as the evening's host as a Save the Children artist ambassador and trustee. Through Ben's acceptance speech, the couple complimented and joked with each other on the podium. The event also featured a performance by Trisha Yearwood, featuring her two songs, "PrizeFighter" and "How Do I Live." The gala benefited the organization's efforts to help end preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths with early childhood education. In total, the event raised $1.38 million; the last four minutes of the gala there was a fundraiser that raised $174,000. For more from last night, check out our slideshow.
