It's not every night that I leave a fashion party with a new tattoo on my arm and a thong in my purse, but such could only be expected when Caroline Vreeland throws a lingerie launch at The Box. (Sorry, mom!)
Last week the sultry crooner, model, Instagram It Girl, and descendant of Vogue royalty celebrated her new capsule collection with Kiki De Montparnasse and Farfetch, complete with aerial burlesque performances and an intimate set by the lady of the hour herself. Hitting the stage with a mic in one hand and a wine bottle in the other, Vreeland welcomed guests with a velvety rendition of Nancy Sinatra's classic, "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" before launching into a selection of her own original songs.
I happened to enjoy the show from the plush upstairs balcony, where celebrity ink-master Evan Kim and his colleague from Evan Tattoo were busy buzzing away on a few daring attendees, myself and designer Maxwell Osborne included. I opted for a delicate rose, though the other Caroline-approved options included martini glasses, a forkful of spaghetti, and a few PG-13 designs inspired by the embroidery of the collection (which is sold exclusively on Farfetch). Before leaving, partygoers were able to snag one of the cheeky undergarments for themselves.
