Excuse us while we go scream into a pillow about the fact that 1989 was 30 years ago.
OK, now that that's done, let's talk about DKNY's blowout 30th birthday bash which, for a brand known for its gritty downtown cool, could have only been hosted in a warehouse in Brooklyn. (Obviously, a ferry was chartered for the occasion.)
Monday night's epic celebration saw the likes of Kendall Jenner, Ashley Benson, Suki Waterhouse, Winnie Harlow, Charlie Puth, and, of course, Donna Karan herself, toasting the iconic label's big anniversary in DUMBO. Outside, the Brooklyn Bridge (featuring a DKNY light projection) loomed over the red carpet, paired with gorgeous views of the city skyline across the river. Inside, guests snacked on distinctly New York treats, from miniature hot dogs and pretzels to Milk Bar cookies, washing it all down with Tequila Don Julio, Tanqueray, and Johnnie Walker cocktails curated by Jeff Bell of PDT.
While DJ duo The Martinez Brothers kicked off the evening's beats, attendees moved and grooved in an interactive mirrored photo booth, and posed alongside giant red balloons fit for a birthday as big as this one. By the time Cara Delevingne stepped up to present the night's headlining performer, Halsey, the crowd had already gathered close to the stage, phone cameras at the ready. The singer, decked out in a white tank and trés '90s DKNY jeans, belted out favorites like "Bad at Love," and "Colors," before wishing the brand a happy birthday and expressing how glad she's been to work with it on a new campaign. Post confetti drop, the stylish guests lingered longer than is typical at most Fashion Week parties, tearing up the dance floor 'til after midnight. To the next 30, DKNY!
