And just like that, NYFW has come and gone.
Though the fashion set may have already flown off to London, Milan and Paris, the memories - and the blisters - of a week packed with parties here at home remain. Fashion Week, you see, is a funny thing. It's a time when there's so much going on that no matter how full your social diary may be, you're somehow left to feel like you're still doing nothing. That there must be a laundry list of things happening you haven't even heard of let alone been invited to.
Looking back with semi-clear eyes, I can now see that I was definitely at my fair share of soirées, both fashion and non-fashion. And I'm not talking two hour cocktail parties, but late night ragers which many a time didn't even start until most respectable editors and influencers had gone to bed.
Curious to hear about my favorites?
Mask Up
It wouldn’t be Fashion Week here in NYC without a bash at the famed Boom Boom Room. This year artist Daniel Arsham took over the party perch for a masquerade-themed evening to celebrate his 20th anniversary, complete with ornate masks in the artist's signature style. I mean, who doesn't love a photo prop?
Fossil Fuel
Fossil put together QUITE the shindig - and talent budget - this season, bringing in the likes of Lucy Hale, Maddie Ziegler, Leon Bridges, Darren Barnet, Deon Hinton, and MANY others for a star-studded party at private members club Maxwell in Tribeca. There was a featuring a special set by Va$thie.
Jetting Off
The Chelsea Factory set the stage for the latest iteration of famed luggage brand RIMOWA's SEIT 1898, their traveling exhibition which first debuted earlier this year in Tokyo. A number of the brand's most iconic pieces, luggage created for celebrities and brand partnerships alike, were on display as guests (and names featured in the exhibit) like Martha Stewart, Dr. Woo, Spike Lee mingled about.
After The Party It's The...
The thing about Boom Boom Room during this branded week of fashion is that you never go just once. A few days later, the 18th floor was filled with a stylish crowd to celebrate Dion Lee and his latest runway show. Ice Spice performed, Avril Lavigne ordered pizza to the club for a post show snack, it was a night.
Can You Hear Me Now?
Later that evening right down the street at The Weylin, Bose launched their latest in-ear headphones with an exclusive party featuring performances by a very booked and busy Ice Spice as well as a DJ set by Jamie XX. Guests included Tiffany Hadish, Victor Cruz showed up for the fun (and the freebies).
La Vie Una Rosa
Who needs a traditional runway show? British sensation Luis De Javier took a cinematic approach for his Fashion Week fête. Held at The House Of Cannabis, Luis and Serious People debuted their new short film 'Le Robo Una Rosa' starring Julia Fox. Guests Avril Lavigne, Alton Mason and more enjoyed non alcoholic drinks from Levity, pre-rolls from Drew Martin and even some lube from Personal Fav... because, well, why not I suppose?
The Ned After Dark
The Ned really threw down this Fashion Week, closing out the (more than weeklong) of pomp and festivities with an intimate celebration for designer Jonathan Simkhai. Guests included Dasha Polanco, Lukia Maxwell, Tinx, Emira D’Spain and others and danced to DJ sets from the duo Lumia Nocito and Nick Hadad.
Of course there were plenty other cocktail parties and dinners swimming with the style set as well - don't forget to check out our favorites!
