Fab’s friends and fans flocked to Hudson Yards to experience the second annual Fab Think + Drink happy hour panel during NYCxDesign on Tuesday May 23, 2017.
The theme of the panel was The Future of New Media, discussing the intersection of new media, technology and art in the 21st century. Panelists included Electric Objects Founder Jake Levine, virtual reality Designer and Art Director James Orlando, Wired Design and Technology Editor Liz Stinson, and New Museum Curator Lindsay Howard.
The panelists explored recent examples of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality as seen in art, design, and e-commerce and shared with the guests what keeps them inspired, the challenges that have shifted the design landscape, and game-changing innovations on the horizon.
In addition to the panel and happy hour, guests also experienced Hubble Cantana, an interstellar VR experience designed by the award-winning production studio, The Endless Collective, as well as a lighting installation by Nanoleaf, and a digital art installation on Electric Objects’ E02 art frames.
Guests enjoyed refreshing Svedka summer cocktails and Six Point Beer along with Dry Sparkling and Boxed Water, delicious burgers and fries from Lucky's Famous Burgers, and sweet treats from Treat House.
