'Twas a celebration of the golden age of Vanity Fair and the new book detailing the Dilettante life of its longtime deputy editor Dana Brown on Wednesday at The Waverly Inn. Leave it, of course, to Graydon Carter to toast to the release in style.
The iconic former Editor-in-Chief of Vanity Fair, and more recent founder of Air Mail, hosted a well-heeled crowd of New York A-listers and literati to fête the new memoir from his right-hand man at the glossy. Brown, who shares "True Tales of Excess, Triumph, and Disaster" from his 25 years at the magazine in his new book, was joined by guests including Cynthia Rowley, Carl Swanson, Gina Gershon, Sandra Bernhard, and Nancy Jo Sales.
Between bites of caviar-topped deviled eggs and the beloved Waverly pigs-in-a-blanket, partygoers rubbed elbows and flipped through copies of the buzzy hardcover. Lucky for them, the evening was as rollicking as the stories in its pages.
