Inside Fashion Group International's 31st Annual Night of Stars

Last night, fashion’s finest came out for Fashion Group International’s 31st Annual Night of Stars at Cipriani Wall Street. The evening honored an impressive list of fashion and design luminaries, including Diane von Furstenberg, who received the “Superstar Award,” presented by Karen Elson. The late Oscar de la Renta was on everyone’s mind. “I’m sad about Oscar, tonight,” exclaimed Diane von Furstenberg as she made her way across the red carpet. Fashion Group International president Margaret Hayes opened the evening with glowing remarks of de la Renta, “Oscar’s accomplishments were extraordinary.” Designer Wes Gordon also took a moment to remember de la Renta, recalling two summers where he interned with the legendary designer before starting his eponymous line. Oscar de la Renta’s newly appointed Creative Director, Peter Copping, was also honored as a Star Honoree. “I’m sure that Oscar will be my guardian angel,” Copping shared while receiving his award, presented by Marc Jacobs.
