If there’s one thing the advertising industry knows, it’s good parties, and search ad marketplace Swoop threw a great one last week. The Boston-based company took over the Top of the Standard, bringing in one of NYC’s premier DJs to give the industry a stunning farewell to summer.
Founded by ex-Goal.com CEO Ron Elwell and former Ghostery CTO Sim Simeonov, Swoop prides itself as being a new marketplace for search advertising, bringing search ads to web content and focusing equally on serving advertisers, publishers and web users. Because their advertisements work so well at generating interested potential buyers, automotive and pharmaceutical ad agencies love them - and many of New York’s premiere search ad minds were out for the End of Summer Party.
The bar was open, with specialty Swoop-themed drinks designed for the night. The view from both the Top of the Standard and its rooftop section was magnificent. The music, driven by DJ to the stars Tom Macari and with a special appearance by Sarina the Violin Diva, was on point. In the end, it was a fitting farewell to summer, and a hell of a party.
