A glittering mix of young art stars, it girls, fashion lovers, models, and art collectors all gathered on Friday night at V in SoHo to celebrate the launch of painter Annika Connor’s new line of luxury art scarves. The new collection, Annika Connor by ShawLux, showcases nine of Connor’s original paintings digitally printed on to cashmere and silk wraps and men’s silk pocket squares. Blending the uniqueness of an original painting with the wearability of a functional and chic accessory, these beautiful creations delighted all. As guests sipped on complimentary vodka cocktails, they gossiped, laughed, and got some early holiday gifting done as they shopped the scarves.
When speaking about the collection, Connor says, “I hope this project will tap into the creative in all of us, that the scarves will pull from the closet an added artistic edge and bring a bit of whimsy to anyone’s style.” While representatives from ShawLux commented that: “they are excited to introduce this new line of wearable art and to give clients the opportunity to wrap themselves in luxury while wrapping themselves in art.”
