After two years, a major venue change, and lots of anticipation, the social set's absolute favorite springtime fundraiser made its triumphant return this Thursday evening. Back bigger and more glamorous than ever, the Frick Young Fellows Ball brought out nearly 500 of New York's chicest art patrons to toast and dance the night away - between chin-stroking laps around the galleries, of course.
Hosted for the first time ever at the Frick Madison, the glittering event was thrown in partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue, First Republic Bank, and Carolina Herrera, with a stylish chair committee including Paul Arnhold, Drew Garrison, Grace Gummer, Sarah Hoover, Elizabeth Kurpis, and Indré Rockefeller along with honorary chair Wes Gordon.
Partygoers interpreted the evening's theme, "Modern Love," in their romantic black tie best, with hearts, bows, and opera gloves standing out as the accessories du jour. The theme also coincided with the current year-long installation series Living Histories: Queer Views and Old Masters.
The soiree began with guests rubbing elbows over champagne, Quinn Rosé, and specialty cocktails from Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Desolas Mezcal across the first floor lobby, lining up to strike a post in front of a stunning floral installation for the occasion. Throughout the night, attendees including Gossip Girl stars Zion Moreno and Savannah Smith, as well as It Heiress Ivy Getty, explored the upstairs galleries (where, arguably, the best photo ops are found), before flocking to the lower level to take a spin on the digital photo booth, snack on miniature lobster rolls, Egg McMuffins, and sliders, and get down on the dance floor to the tunes of DJ duo Angel + Dren.
If the Manhattan social scene has anything close to a homecoming, this beloved Frick fête is it.
