Inside The New York Junior League's 63rd Winter Ball

The New York Junior League (NYJL)'s 63rd annual Winter Ball at the Pierre Hotel in NYC was attended by nearly 700 guests. The benefit gala raised half a million dollars. Proceeds went to the many local nonprofits supported by the women’s volunteer organization. Each year, the NYJL Winter Ball brings together volunteers, family, and friends to honor recipients of NYJL’s Outstanding Sustainer and Outstanding Volunteer Awards, the NYJL’s highest honor. The fundraising event also commemorates both the groundbreaking community service projects and the women volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to realizing the mission of the NYJL.

This year, Kristine Johnson, Emmy award-winning CBS News anchor for New York’s 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts, served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. The evening began with a cocktail reception and silent auction. The silent auction continued, via mobile devices, throughout a seated dinner which included the award presentation for the Outstanding Sustainers and Outstanding Volunteers, Catherine C. Crane, Peggy Anne Dineen, Jana Beauchamp, Sharon Bonnanni, Allison Marie Hyers, Cynthia Vitari Song and Leah Wenger.
