On Tuesday, guests joined Sotheby's New York and Miss Porter's School to toast the opening of By Women, For Tomorrow's Women, the first-ever All-Women Artist Benefit Auction at a Major Auction House. Full proceeds of this ground-breaking sale are set to benefit financial aid at Miss Porter's School which gives women the opportunity to attend and go on to shape a changing world.

The evening began with a private reception that included guests of Sotheby's as well as friends of Miss Porter's School, who were able to view the exhibition and hear remarks from Agnes Gund, Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Katherine Windsor. Following the reception, the honorary co-chairs joined members of the school’s auction and event committees along with exhibiting artists, for an intimate dinner prepared by world renowned chef, Missy Robbins. 

Forty-three works of modern and contemporary works by more than 40 women artists have been donated to the auction, which will be featured alongside the Sotheby's Contemporary Sale on Friday, March 1st. 

Who Was There: Oprah Winfrey, Agnes Gund, Dr. Katherine Winsor, alumnae, members of the auction committee, trustees and staff from Miss Porter’s School, and Sotheby’s New York Contemporary Art Department were joined by guests including: chef Missy Robbins, DJ Zuri Marley, artists with works in the sale including April Gornik, Dorothea Rockburne, Ghada Amer, Lily Stockman and Roni Horn, auction Vice-Chair Adam Sheffer of Pace Gallery, auction Chair Jill Spalding and more.
