On Thursday, March 19th, Vanessa Gounden flew into New York City from London to preview her Fall 2015 collection at the Crosby Street Hotel. Drawing inspiration from birds in all their splendor, and their representation throughout Eastern decorative culture, the collection tells a personal and emotive story. Paintings and patterns have been created into vibrant bespoke prints, a signature feature of Vanessa’s work. Models were on hand to showcase the designers impeccable tailoring, unique layering, and sumptuous wraps. Key pieces in the collection include kimono-inspired coats and dresses with tie belts; cropped jackets with a sculptured neckline; fitted tailoring; cocoon coats, capes and culottes; and full length couture gowns. The colors and prints captivated Vanessa’s audience of editors, bloggers and reporters.
