When you pull up to a party and there's a fleet of vintage cars and Rolls-Royces parked out front, you know you're in for a quite an evening.
Let's just say Wednesday night's bash with Vacheron Constantin did not disappoint. The luxury Swiss watchmaker pulled out all the stops to celebrate the opening of its swanky new flagship store uptown and the 100th anniversary of its American 1921 timepiece. From the gilded art-deco glam of the flagship fete to the secret speakeasy dinner that followed, the iconic maison transported guests back to the 1920s in signature style.
A-list attendees including Katie Holmes, Alan Cumming, and Chanel Iman kicked off the night sipping cocktails and exploring the glittering timepieces at the exciting new shopping destination, where supermodel and musician Karen Elson treated guests to a live performance of her new single, "Lightning Strikes," an upbeat anthem that speaks to the mood of Fashion Week this season.
"I went in a new direction where I really needed hope and something lighthearted," Elson said of the new song. "It's fun, it's frivolous... we all need something to look forward to, we all need a silver lining. This is my first real Fashion Week since the pandemic started, and I'm so excited. I've never been more inspired by fashion - the lighthearted version, the hopeful version."
Indeed, as the crowd toasted and air-kissed, that sense of hope was found in the welcome return to socializing.
Following the flagship debut, partygoers were transported via luxurious motor car to a penthouse speakeasy and the penthouse at Steinway Tower, where dinner was served with a side of Alan Cumming's Tony Award-winning singing.
Needless to say, the timeless timepiece brand knows a thing or two about creating memorable moments.
