Bella Hadid made her first appearance this New York Fashion Week last night for a high-tech celebration of her Michael Kors Spring 2019 campaign at Dolby Soho. The exhibition served as a multi-floor immersive experience with 360-projections of the “MK” logo and clips of campaign video, allowing guests to feel like they’ve starred alongside Bella herself.
From the second we entered the space, it truly felt like a Michael Kors playground complete with a seesaw, giant logo swing, life-size “MK” charms, and trampolines to recreate the playful energy the designer created on-set. While we let loose, Hypno AIR cameras captured shareable photo and video content. Nestled in the back of the first floor, the “Virtual Forest” lured guests to another content moment via a stylized set-up of 18 free-standing screens enhanced with additional 3D elements. Dolby was truly one massive, graphic backdrop built for Instagram.
Michael and Bella were clad in head-to-toe black ensembles (très New York); the model wearing a ribbed bodycon dress with knee-high leather boots, and the designer in his usual suit jacket, tee and aviators, working the room together and dancing in front of GIF booth cameras like the rest of us, except Bella can get it down in one take. Additional notable guests sprinkled throughout the space included Camilla Belle, Olivia Palermo, Mafalda, Derek Blasberg, May Kwok, and more.
