Last Thursday evening, The Plaza Hotel ballroom was in full bloom. The occasion? The New York Botanical Garden's annual Orchid Dinner - the city's most indulgent evening, catering to a stylish crowd of nearly 250 tabletop lovers, floral enthusiasts and social staples alike.
Held in celebration of The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope, a must-see feast for the eyes which will be on view through May 1st, the soirée began with cocktails and a special sale of exceptional and rare orchids. Following this fan favorite exercise in floral retail therapy, guests fanned out throughout the ballroom to snap photos of the dinner's stunning tables.
A chosen class of New York's most imaginative creatives were enlisted to dream up the tablescapes, each of which highlighted the flower of the evening. From JSA Studio NYC's candlelit orchid umbrella, to JK Interior Living's flowing water fountain and grand floral arch, 'twas a sight to be seen.
As the main sponsor of the evening, GUERLAIN pledged a massive gift - the replanting of up to 2,000 orchids in their natural habitat in the Tianzi Exploratory Reserve in Yunnan Province, China. One orchid will be replanted for every 100 tickets sold to the Orchid Show, so reserve your spot today!
