On Friday, Absolut vodka hosted the launch of their new global series, Absolut Nights with a one-of-a-kind party in Red Hook. The series will seek to redefine nightlife experiences by turning ordinary elements into something special for one night. For the kickoff event, that meant hosting the event outdoors around a shipping yard, surrounded by shipping containers and a massive crane. The idea initially seemed novel, but only as guests started walking down a long corridor with containers creating the passageway did they begin to realize how well this was executed. As they approached the end, they could see the dance floor in front of an enormous crane with a giant disco ball hanging from it. A DJ booth perched atop several more containers at the base of the crane, and fog machines and moving lights beamed across the circular enclosure. All of this with the backdrop of the Financial District across the river left guests to party in one of the coolest event spaces of the year.
