Just when we thought we’ve seen it all, the world’s biggest porn site launches a collaboration with a streetwear favorite, and turns contemporary art gallery, Maccarone into a strip club to celebrate. Meet the PornHub x Richardson capsule collection featuring Asa Akira.
The event concept was minimalist (as were the outfits) with a blank space and only red lights, a DJ, and a platform for, yes – real live strippers. The décor was a litter of dollar bills matted to the floor with spilt over cocktails. The space filled quickly with A-listers and industry people taking a break from the runways, in addition to the famed EDM DJ Diplo, renowned porn stars including Asa Akira herself, and drag queens like Violet Chachki. Guests were encouraged to toss singles on the scantily clad PornHub performers (sporting pieces from the collection) making us all feel like we were at the Hustler club off the West Side Highway. Some looked a little too comfortable and others looked overstimulated.
A group of dancers dressed like a cross between Vegas showgirls and Rihanna at the Barbados Crop Over Festival took the stage in between stripper sets to the beat of loud drums and sirens, and the night continued on until the door was officially shut.
The capsule collection is comprised of a hoodie, a cap, a swimsuit, a bomber jacket, and multiple t-shirts that feature a collage of Asa Akira, while others showcase the flags of countries in which PornHub is permitted and banned. A fashionable way of making a statement.
