Outfitted in black tie hole chic and prepared to elbow-bump, New York's chicest didn't let the threat of any virus stop them from gathering at the Seagram Building to attend the Art Production Fund's always-anticipated annual gala.

Hosted by Executive Director Casey Fremont, along with Director of Operations Kathleen Lynch, and Co-Founders Doreen Remen and Yvonne Force Villareal, the evening celebrated the art world's certified First Couple, Sarah Hoover and Tom Sachs.

Things kicked off in the wood-paneled Grill, where dirty martinis greeted guests and the champagne flowed at the Ruinart bar. The ever-conceptual and NASA-loving Sachs set up quite the "Indoctrination & Re-Education" space program experience up on the mezzanine, where attendees could take part in a futuristic (and slightly dystopian) series of stations, from getting their photo taken for their Tom Sachs ID to touching up their nails with Chanel manicures and custom Tom Sachs decals. After sorting some screws and making it through "the portal," guests were rewarded with Jell-O shots (if only outer space were so fun).

Guests trickled in and Nicky Hilton Rothschild hung with Jenny Mollen and Alice + Olivia's Stacey Bendet, all of whom missed the last-minute dress code change from "bubblegum space odyssey" to the more grim "black hole," nevertheless looking fabulous in their bright, pastel best.

Before moving into The Pool for dinner (where mini vodka and caviar tins served as epic centerpieces), the crowd descended into as much silence as possible (DJ Leigh Lezark, at least, cut the tunes) to watch a spine-tingling performance by Mika Tajima with ballerina Alexandra Jacob, the latter of whom achieved seemingly impossible contortion while dressed in a full-body catsuit. Très avant-garde.

Following opening remarks by Fremont and Lynch, Emily Ratajkowski and Anne Pasternak led toasts to Hoover and Sachs, respectively. What followed was an evening of dining, drinking, auctioning, and plenty of glamorous hand-washing bathroom selfies
