Volcan De Mi Tierra x Dia De Los Muertos
When it comes to celebrating the Day of the Dead, the traditional Mexican holiday honoring loved ones who've passed, no one could have guessed that Chinatown would be the move. But when LVMH-owned tequila Volcan De Mi Tierra hosts a party, the cool kids are sure to flock.
Decked out in cocktail black-tie and intricate face paint, the style set toasted to Dia De Los Muertos at downtown hot spot Chinese Tuxedo. The opera house-turned-eatery was transformed into one big, glamorous shrine, flickering with countless candles and decorated with fresh flowers, colorful skulls, and photos of ancestors.
Guests were welcomed with thematic cocktails like the "El Diablo," and "La Bruja-Ja-Ja," and were able to choose from a wall of gorgeous handmade masks to truly get into the spirit. Attendees, including designer Brian Atwood and Volcan De Mi Tierra President Trent Fraser, began the night posing for photos and settling into the restaurant's plush booths while snacking on passed bites including spicy cucumber and chicken salad, served in mini Chinese take-out boxes. Of course, with Brendan Fallis at the DJ booth and tequila in everyone's cup, the bash soon turned into a full-on dance party. Let's just say the afterlife has never looked so glam.
