As drizzle started to descend upon the city, most of Manhattan (at least those in the know) hailed their cabs, booked their Ubers, and departed for no man's land - a.k.a. Brooklyn. Hosted at the industrial-chic Brooklyn Navy Yard, last night's Creative Time Spring Gala was certainly worth the trek. Over 500 guests toasted to Craig Robins and the art of Rirkrit Tiravanija with Creative Time Executive Director Katie Hollander, sipping their whimsical Bombay Sapphire cocktails (which included a boozy bottled iced tea and a cotton candy-infused concoction) before a twinkling dinner. With a beach chair setup, a display of bird houses, and even faux-sand in the drinks, the summer theme was palpable. Between bites of spinach soufflé and steak frites, we spotted the likes of Waris Ahluwalia, Anja Rubik, Jeffrey Deitch, and Sofia Sanchez de Betak, who were all busy taking in both the art and the scene.
