New York is hardly lacking in the stylish dining department, but this week's debut of L'Avenue (just in time for NYFW) certainly has the fashion crowd buzzing.
The legendary eatery, which has remained a French hot spot for over 20 years, has finally opened its first outpost outside of Paris and you can find it, fittingly enough, at Saks Fifth Avenue.
On Thursday, a very well-heeled crowd including Jessica Chastain, Joan Smalls, and Olivia Palermo gathered at the two-floor, Philippe Starck-designed space for a first look (and taste). Guests enjoyed a menu of signature L'Avenue dishes including Spicy Tuna Tartar with Avocado, Tom Yam Chili Sea Bass, and Black Truffle Risotto. For dessert, A-listers were served Rose Raspberry Lychee Macaron, Dark Chocolate Experience, and Costes Crackers Cheesecake, by acclaimed French pastry chef and L’Avenue at Saks partner, Pierre Hermé.
