The Sumeria Group created an event over the weekend that raised awareness for the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance. Starting with The Liberty Ball at Gotham Hall on Saturday, which was attended by over 700 young professionals.
It was followed by a service project to assemble care packages for children of wounded military service members at Beekman Beer Garden on Sunday.
The Sumeria Group, whose mission is to connect young professionals with non-profit organizations, is starting a national initiative that encourages people to pay tribute on 9/11 by doing good deeds and charitable services. In addition to the service project, the Sumeria Group will donate the proceeds from the Liberty Ball to MyGoodDeed.
