Uptown's buzziest bash returned last night at the Frick Madison - and everyone who's anyone on the city's social scene was sure to RSVP.
The Frick Young Fellows Ball is always one of the most glamorous fundraising events on the spring calendar, but this year served as an especially glittering good time considering the evening's theme: Bejeweled! 'Twas a nod to the museum's new special exhibition, The Gregory Gift, a true treasure trove of whimsical objets d'art shimmering with gilded surfaces and gemstones. Needless to say, the night's attendees had no trouble embracing the dress code, stepping out adorned in jewel tones, sparkles, and embellishments galore.
Led by the party's chairmen Ivy Getty, Paul Arnhold, Wes Gordon, Louisa Jacobson, and Indré Rockefeller, along with honorary chair Irene Neuwirth, guests made their way through the Frick's upper floor galleries, taking in the collection, listening to guided talks, and stopping to strike a pose in the "Step into a Fragonard" experience, a life-sized painting-slash-photo booth that turned outfit snaps into works of art.
The party really got started downstairs, however, where DJ duo Angel + Dren pumped the tunes and livened up the disco-lit dance floor. Between grooves, guests sipped colorful themed cocktails and refreshments courtesy of Tito’s Vodka, Catena Zapata, De Soi, Desolas Mezcal, Old Overholt, and Quinn Rosé, and mingled in the covered garden, where a flower wall and plush, gem-encrusted sofas provided even more photo opportunities. We mean, can you ever have enough?
