New York's premier film festival kicked off last night with The First Monday in May, the film everyone in the fashion industry is talking about. Directed by Andrew Rossi, the documentary goes behind the scenes of the legendary Met Gala, following Anna Wintour and Andrew Bolton as they conceptualized and planned last year's "China Through The Looking Glass." With a winding, seemingly miles-long red carpet, there were, expectantly, plenty of A-list guests. Tribeca Film Festival co-founders Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro joined Wintour, along with Chloe Grace Moretz and designers Donna Karan, Vivienne Tam, and Zac Posen - who once interned at the Met. "I made my own outfit, I went with my fellow interns, and I danced the night away," he said, when asked about his first Met Gala experience. "There's nothing more magical than being in the museum at night."
Who was there: Guests included Jane Rosenthal, Anna Wintour, Andrew Bolton, Fabiola Beracasa Beckman, Jose Neves, Robert De Niro, Susan Zuccotti, Karolina Kurkova, Andrew Essex, Andrew Rossi, Chloe Grace Moretz, Maye Musk, Nick Rhodes, Wendi Murdoch, Bob Sauerberg, Jennifer Westfeldt, Marina Arsenijevic, Sylvana Ward Durrett, Zac Posen, Andrew Saffir, Carmen Busquets, Clifford Ross, Donna Karan, Grace Hightower, Jane Fonda, and Jason Biggs.
