Quite possibly the New York art world's glitziest event of the year, the Whitney Gala and Studio Party made its very stylish return this week.
The evening kicked off with a VIP dinner at the museum, where artists, A-listers, and patrons, including Karlie Kloss, Jeff Koons, and Seth Meyers toasted to the 2022 Gala honorees, Thelma Golden, former Whitney curator and Director of the Studio Museum in Harlem, Susan Hess, longtime Whitney Museum Trustee, and artist Glenn Ligon.
Afterwards, guests made their way to Genesis House, the swanky, three-story car and culture hub, for the lively late-night Studio Party.
Always a social calendar favorite, the bash was a neon-lit, music-pumping, immersive affair which brought out well-heeled scene regulars like Ivy Getty, Lili Buffett, Wes Gordon, and Sophie Sumner. Needless to say, colorful, festive fashion was on full display.
Throughout the night, partygoers sipped specialty cocktails while exploring the space, rubbing elbows between the luxury cars and striking poses for the digital step-and-repeat. Upstairs, guests relaxed in the wood-accented eatery, Onjium, which served as the event's laid-back lounge area, while downstairs, attendees hit the dance floor backed by a trippy LED light installation.
