Gap Says That Wearing Kids Clothing Is Cool
I'm all about saving a buck, and I will admit that I buy boy's blazers every now and then if I'm feeling a little Tilda Swinton-edgy. But Gap's new positioning of its kids line as "cool for adults" seems a little too forced for me. A New York Times blog recently posted an article featuring Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Athena Calderone, and Kristin Chenoweth all wearing various pieces of Gap Kids clothing, complete with a slideshow of the fall kids collection (bows, hearts, and furry boots included). So not only is the fashion industry pushing sample sizes...but we're expected to wear kids sizes now? Gap, you've got to do better. [New York Times]
