What do you feel the challenges are to producing in NYC?
It’s expensive! But you pay for quality so it’s completely worth it. I would rather stress about having to manage everything all the time because we’re close, than stress about not knowing what’s going on.
What do you feel it takes to make a well-rounded collection?
It’s all about keeping it exciting. I mean what is exciting about a dress anymore? Nothing really. So for me it’s the fabrics. I am inspired by interesting materials. The first dress [in the collection] for example is a very simple shape, but it’s a resin coated linen – so the material gives it a lot of volume and texture.
