Big Butts, Crazy Headpieces, And Other Trends That Won't Cost You A Dime

by CHLOE POST · July 14, 2010

Every fashion season consumers look for new trends. But the thing about trends is they can get to be really expensive, especially if they change as soon as you buy into them. Here we show you how you can rock this season's trends and it won't cost you a thing! (except maybe your dignity)...

So if the trends are as fleeting as the juicy couture jumpsuit there really is no reason to spend all that dough! Here we have broken down the most recent (and bizarre) trends, that will most likely not stick around for too long... And here's the great part, they won't cost you a thing!

"OMG Becky, look at her butt!"

Bring on the badunkadonks. Fat-bottomed girls are in! Serena Williams, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez all got it, and now even Madonna's daughter Lourdes is lusting after a big butt look! So this one can be tricky if you have been working on your bikini bod for summer. So literally stop exercising, eat foods that will go straight to your ass, laziness is key people. I personally recommend hitting up the Mcd's dollar menu for your new diet (I know it's not technically free, but its close enough)

    Mullet Madness for Men

Gerard Butler shows he is all business in the front, but fear not! There's a party in the back! If someone as hunky as Mr. Butler is getting in on the Mullet Madness, other men are sure to follow with hopes they will make the gals swoon. And if you want to make girls swoon too, all you need to do is grow your hair out, find some scissors, trim the front and you're done! Party on bro, party on.

    Glamorously Greasy and Grossky

Fear not ladies, there is an even simpler and cheaper hair trend for you to follow! Literally, do not wash your hair. Make it sure it gets nice and oily so you can achieve "the wet look." And honestly, if you are impatient dampen your hair with water every 20 minutes. Oh and never, ever brush it.

    Cut it Out!

Cut-outs are huge this season. If you still have that pair of scissors left over from your mullet and a piece of clothing you are willing to sacrifice, go for it. You can decide what part of your body you want to show, just remember crotchless pants have already been done... Get creative with designs. Check out the runway shots above for more inspiration.

    Nonsensical head pieces

Literally take any random object laying around your house, arrange it in your hair or on top of your head.. and Voila! Instant couture!

If you aren't feeling very creative here are some examples of things you can stuff in your weave: dog toys, wrapping paper, utensils, your little brother's/sister's figurines, bows, old food wrappers, cds... basically anything that would be considered "hot items" at a garage sale.

    Rock Your Socks Off

Socks with sandals, are regretfully becoming a trend this summer. Rock it like a grandpa, rock it like a trendy fashionista, just rock the socks! All you need is a pair of sandals and a pair of socks (two things which hopefully you should already own), and you are set.

    Shaggy Looks

If you own a bathmat you are good to go. Wrap it around you, wear it up top as a coat, wear it down below for a skirt, whatever you're in the mood for. Not to mention with a look like this you won't have to worry about where you're gonna sleep; literally use the shaggy carpet garment as a sleeping bag. A garment that is multi-purpose? Now that's a keeper.
