Everyone knows that Harlem is a neighborhood that has kept its culture through the years, the heart of that being amazing jazz music. The Jazz Foundation of America is devoted to enriching the lives of elder musicians who have spent their lives enriching ours through music. Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem (which once hosted the vocal powerhouse Billie Holiday) held a "Little Great Night" yesterday. It was hosted by the always lovely Blythe Danner (mother of Goop girl, Gwyneth) and Richard Parsons.
More story and photos below:
Wendy Oxenhorn who heads the foundation was there along with other music lovers and makers. We should all learn a thing or two about the spirit of community that thrives in Harlem, it would definetly add a jazzy step to our daily commutes.
