After years living next door to The Classic Coffee Shop on Hester Street, it's safe to say that Emily Bode and her partner Aaron Augila were bonafide regulars of the beloved no-frills spot. Which is why this past winter when owner Carmen Morales told them he was closing up the coffee shop for good, the couple got to thinking.
Sad to see the neighborhood gem go and driven by clothing designer Emily's lifelong dream of owning a tailor shop, the adventu rous duo took over Morales’s lease and transformed the space into a brilliant hybrid, BODE - part tailor studio, part coffee shop.
The perfect excuse to get that vintage blazer fitting like a glove and grab yourself an afternoon pick-me-up, no?
