To master the grunge look, you have to find just the right amount of disheveled. Hair is generally unkempt and natural. For eyes, dark, heavy, and smudged is the way to go. Much of the eyeliner on the spring runways was meant to look like it was smudgy and leftover from last night. To get that look, try smudging brown shadow along your bottom lash line. Keep blush and bronzer to a minimum and focus on the lips instead. The best grunge colors are nude, red, or burgundy. For nails, it's black or nothing. Of course, grunge was a reaction to the crazy high-impact stylings of the '80s, so the ultimate act of defiance was to wear no makeup at all. [Photo: Courtney Love via]
