Jenna Lyons - seems like we haven't heard that name in a while.
The former creative director and president of J. Crew, girl about town, and arbiter of taste was once the star of Pinterest mood boards and Fashion Week roundups the world over, but, since leaving the brand in 2017, she's been relatively quiet. We figured she'd just been enjoying bougie mom life in Tribeca and embracing a break from it all. But duh, of course she had something up her well-styled sleeve.
Surprise: she's starring in her own TV show! Stylish with Jenna Lyons will premiere on HBO Max and feature docuseries type coverage of Jenna's various endeavors, including starting up new businesses in fashion, redecorating a friend's apartment, and designing a new office space.
Crazy, right?! Or is it... My hypothesis is that often, when creators, influencers, and fashion moguls go silent for a period of time, it is not a lack of creativity, productivity, and work ethic that has led them to that point. Rather, they've been cooking up a new concept. In this case, Jenna Lyons is no different, as we can see that her pivot into reality TV is not unwarranted; she had been transitioning into the lifestyle aspect of influencing for quite some time before she went completely off of the grid and, obviously, her name is a brand all its own.
Though we'll have to pay for the eight episode series on HBO Max, it's going to be a must-watch when it premieres November 26th, so I urge you to suck it up and pay $14.99 for an interesting view into a fashion icon of the past, present, and, as it seems, the future.
